In 1787 I'm told
Our founding fathers did agree
To write a list of principles

And so our people spelled it out
The things that we should be.

And they put those principles down on paper and called it the Constitution, and it's been helping us run our country ever since then. The first part of the Constitution is called the preamble and tells what those founding fathers set out to do.

We the people,
In order to form a more perfect union,
Establish justice, insure domestic tranquility,
Provide for the common defense,
Promote the general welfare and
Secure the blessings of liberty
To ourselves and our posterity
Do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

In 1787 I'm told

Yohe ได้ฟังเพลงก็ลองวาดภาพประกอบดู ทันใดนั้นเขาก็ได้บอกกับ McCall ว่าเนื้อเพลงแบบนี้น่าจะนำมาทำเป็น animation ได้

Preamble คือ ส่วนบทนำ ของรัฐธรรมนูญ ของประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา เป็นดั่งเหตุผล ว่าทำไมจึงจะต้องมีรัฐธรรมนูญของประเทศ และเป็นวิสัยทัศน์ว่า ผู้ร่างนั้นมีความมุ่งหมายว่าอะไร ส่วน Preamble นั้นเนื้อความดังนี้

"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."

จะสังเกตุได้ว่าใช้เครื่องหมาย comma (,) ตลอด และใช้ period (.) แค่จุดเดียวเท่านั้น คือทั้งหมดนี้เป็นประโยคเดียว

และส่วน preamble ของรัฐธรรมนูญนี้เอง ได้กลายไปเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของเนื้อร้องเพลง The Preamble ของ Schoolhouse Rock! เพื่อถ่ายทอดให้เด็ก ๆ ชาวอเมริกัน (ตั้งแต่ 30 ปีที่แล้ว) ได้เรียนรู้เรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับรัฐธรรมนูญของประเทศตนเอง ผ่านภาพยนตร์อนิเมชั่น

โปรดสังเกตุว่า เมื่อเทียบกับประโยคจริง ๆ แล้ว ในเนื้อเพลงจะร้องว่า We the People, in Order to form a more perfect Union, ซึ่งตกวลีว่า of the United States ไป

ข้าพเจ้าคิดว่า การเรียนรู้และปลูกฝังค่านิยมทางการเมืองนั้นต้องเริ่มตั้งแต่เด็ก เมื่อกันยายน ปี พ.ศ. 2549 อาจารย์โรงเรียนอนุบาลและประถม รวมถึงพ่อแม่ผู้ปกครองหลายท่าน พาเด็ก ๆ ไปประนมมือไหว้เหล่าทหารที่ถือปืนเข้ามาฉีกรัฐธรรมนูญ ก็ต้องระวังด้วยว่า เป็นการปลูกฝังความชินชากับระบอบบางอย่างให้เด็ก ๆ โดยไม่รู้ตัว (เพราะเด็ก ๆ คงไม่เข้าใจการยกเหตุผลความผิดทางจริยธรรมหรอก ในเมื่อผู้ใหญ่บางคนยังไม่เข้าใจเลย)

การให้ความรู้ความเข้าใจนั้น จะต้องไม่ทำอย่างฉาบฉวย หรือ ทำเฉพาะต่อกับเหตุการณ์เท่านั้น ยังจะต้องกระทำอย่างต่อเนื่องในระยะยาว มีการส่งต่อแผนงานกันให้ดีอีกด้วย

จะได้ไม่ต้องมีข้อครหาที่ต้องมาเถียงกันว่า ประชาชนระดับต่าง ๆ ในประเทศนี้ พร้อมหรือไม่พร้อมสำหรับระบอบประชาธิปไตย เข้าใจหรือไม่เข้าใจความสำคัญของรัฐธรรมนูญ

ประเทศเราจะได้หลุดพ้นจากวงจรอุบาทว์ และเริ่มพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนได้สักที
